Beaded Handcrafts created by The ladies of Lower Molweni & Umgababa.

iBhungezi is the isiZulu name for the ladybird and has been chosen as the symbol for this project because it signifies colour, life and vibrancy. This employment opportunity gives both income and affirmation.

There are our ama-Bhungezi, the ladies who craft these bags and other beaded items and they are all residents in the valley. They are characterised by the energy and cheerfulness that one associates with the ladybird. In addition to their initiative you can see that they are gifted with wonderful creativity in their beading.

Design and marketing are undertaken by the ladies of St Agnes.
