Tholulwazi Secondary School, a section 20 public school, established in 1996, is situated in the rural area of Lower Molweni, at the bottom end of the Kloof Gorge about 12km from Pinetown. The original building was a Murray and Roberts Construction hostel which was donated to the community and converted into a school of 5 classrooms. In 2000 an additional 4 classrooms were built with a sponsorship from the Valley Trust. Tholulwazi is a section 20 public high school. The Molweni community, which the school serves, is characterised by high unemployment and abject poverty.
